A GLEAMING line-up of immaculately polished vehicles took pride of place in Grange yesterday.

The annual Dales and Lakes Historic Vehicle Day featured classic cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles from the 1920s to the 1980s.
Residents and visitors made their way to the town’s Memorial Field, in Yewtree Road, to see the exhibition and to enjoy live music, home-cooked food and stalls displaying a range of books and models.
Children could get up close to magnificent birds and experience a steam traction engine ride. Classic car enthusiasts also rummaged through spares to find elusive parts for older vehicles.
Peter Mallinson, a member of the organising committee, said the 12th annual show was excellent, despite the weather.
“We took a decision on Saturday evening that it would go ahead despite the wet weather,” he said.
“It’s a lovely show in a superb location and we hope everyone enjoyed it again this year.”
