WORLD CUP DREAM OVER FOR GARDNER

BARROW's Ade Gardner saw his World Cup dreams ended as England crashed to an error-strewn 32-22 defeat to New Zealand in the semi-finals.
Walney-born Gardner, who started on the wing despite not being named in coach Tony Smith's initial 19-man squad for the game in Brisbane, was unable to make an impact on the game as the Kiwis dominated.
They scored six tries to England's four to book their place in the final, where they will likely play Australia, who take on Fiji in Sunday's other semi-final.
See Monday's Evening Mail for full reaction from St Helens flier Gardner to the defeat.
